Identi.ca Updates for 2009-07-06

  • Google power meter is scary. They seem to want all your data. Next step? Google bank? Google Trading? Google Car? Google Sex-o-meter? ;-) #
  • What is irony? People protesting against big brother laws using Google AdSense to make some money. #
  • Wet sunshine aka rain in Munich. Confcalls, New Hire Orientation etc ahead of me. Let the fun begin! #
  • @sankarshan choice can be confusing for those only experienced with others making their decisions. #
  • At the Red Hat EMEA New Hire Orientation. Wow. So many smart new people. I love this company. #
  • @fabsh problem is that mono doesnt cover all that is .NET, so the promise that you can replace .NET with mono is a red herring. #
  • @fabsh which is sort of a tactic. Standardize 80%, proprietarize 20%. So you can tell youre open but it doesnt really work. #
  • @fabsh as long as the end user app programmer knows what is the 20% it might work. But in comes whatever shiny new thing and oops. #
  • @fabsh think silverlight, XPS etc. #
  • @fabsh and M$ has still not opened the patent license terms for their OSP. #
  • @jneves ask me for virt-manager stuff ;-) #
  • @jneves Which version of OS, virt-manager? #
  • @dantheman made in GB – quality steel ;-) #
  • @jneves storage must be available on all hypervisors at the same place. Virt-manager doesnt automagically create shared storage … #
  • @mairin avoid the diet stuff. Go for real sugar. #
  • @maximburgerhout did you look at spacewalk, BTW? ;-) #
  • On my way to Dürrnbräu to meet the New Hires for a typical bavarian dinner – beer, beer and a bit of fingefood called Haxn. ;-) #
  • Why do I lose special characters somewhere between google talk and ident.ca? #fail #
  • @kanarip umlaut works, but apostroph and quotation marks get lost. Strange. #
  • Weekly reminder – I mainly use identi.ca. So to all my twitter-followers – I usually dont see @ replies. Only identi.ca replies make it. #
  • Jneves – wait for SPICE. It kicks ass. #
  • Jneves ubuntu? How dare you! ;-) #
  • @jneves if you want to migrate, the image/LV must be accesible from both hypervisors at the same place. #
  • @jneves virt-manager doesnt need access. #
  • @jneves SPICE Linux client and drivers are GPL, so ask the Ubuntu people to package it ;-) #
  • @jneves SPICE has no problem with live migration. And we also do full USB 2.0. And a lot more. #
  • @kanarip GPL according to the files on my laptop and distributed to customers. #
  • @kanarip not now as I am in a bavarian restaurant with only my blackberry ;-) #
  • @kanarip ask Wietse from RUG. #
  • @kanarip or wait till my hangover is fixed tmrw ;-) #
  • @kanarip all parts seem to be GPL except the miniport driver for Windows (obvious). #
  • @kanarip need help? Call me! #
  • @kanarip always ;-) #
  • Enjoying education attempts by bavarian waitresses on drunk young men :-) #
  • @dantheman I will be working on my hangover with bavarian beer at that time ;-) #
  • @dantheman @fabsh BTW keep up the good job with #LO. I love it! #
  • Everyone listen to #LinuxOutlaws. Ordered by me. No excuses ;-) #
  • @fabsh pleasure was on my side! Anytime you want! Fancy Oktoberfest Evangelist style? ;-) #
  • @dantheman you bring the girls, I make the party. #
  • @dantheman – send pix first ;-) approval is a prerequisite! Ahahahahahah! #
  • @dantheman agreed. An open standard is needed. Lets create the samples required for testing ;-) #
  • @mairin pulseaudio? #
  • No aperitivo for me. Zzzzzzzz #
